Chetan Kumar - What I love about Angkor Wat (Cambodia)

May 28, 2012

While we're in the same place for the next few months we've invited guests to contribute to There & Here by telling us what they love about their favourite place in the world. Our guest this week is Chetan from London.

Chetan Kumar - Angkor Wat sketchbook illustration What I love about Angkor Wat (Cambodia) is that it was somewhere I always wanted to visit and once I did, the experience will live with me forever. The sheer scale of the ruins, that are richly decorated, is mind boggling. I really enjoyed exploring the ruins and my favourite would have to be Bayon with all the massive stone faces perching above you as you make your way around, watching over you, truly inspiring. You can't help but imagine what would it of been like all those centuries ago and if a time machine is ever invented, it will be one of the places I will visit!
