Excursion - Murray (Mbombela)

August 10, 2011

This is the first week of our guest blog series to compare other parts of the world while Charlotte is visiting Canada for August & September. Our guests this week are Sarah from Vancouver and Murray from Mbombela.

My excursion was a journey through dilapidated streets and overgrown trees. I found a town struggling to find itself, a CBD forgotten and abandoned as businesses fled to more friendlier environs. As it's winter here now, and fire season, the town feels very deserted and lonely. White River, Mpumulanga is known for its temperate climate, bountiful farms and grand housing estates. My pictures are a small look at the town I currently call home.
